PECAN Tree in the front yard— can be yours- call me today for details!

Pecan Pies- the great secret of Southern Cooking….

Dough- can be your homemade recipe or for most of us a store bought crust will do!!! You decide!

Now onto the filling:

2 CUPS of toasted Pecans

5T unsalted butter

1 Cup packed light brown sugar

3/4 Cup light corn syrup

1/2 t salt

1 1/2 cups Bourbon

2 t pure vanilla extract

3 Eggs- slightly beaten

Preheat oven to 400degrees F

And we are off—Medium saucepan – combine the following:

Butter

Brown Sugar

Corn Syrup

Salt

Bring to a boil over medium heat- STIr STIR STIR- CONSTANTLY!  Boil for 1 minute

Remove from heat and stir in NUTS, Bourbon and Vanilla

Set it aside to cool- just a bit- say 5-6 minutes— FINAL STEPS- whisk in the beaten egg until; smooth.

Pour the filling into a HOT CRUST.

Bake on lower rack until edges are loose so say 35-45 minutes.

 Cool on rack- serve warm.  ENJOY!
